FIT KING Compression Leg Massager Review

FIT KING Compression Leg Massager

When it comes to foot and calf massager, something like this may be what that came to mind immediately.

Indeed, a calf-height machine unit, sitting on the floor of your living room (or under your work desk) is probably the most common type of foot and calf massager we are used to seeing. But truth is, this is not the only type available.

Gaining traction and popularity in recent years are air compression leg massagers – a massage machine that gives out sequential compression massage using airbag technology.

They come in a boot-like design, in the form of wraps that go around the whole leg from foot to calf with some, even the thighs. Like this:

Amongst all, the brand “FIT KING” is probably the most well-known, having released some of the best foot calf massagers in the industry.

Model: FIT KING FT-009A

A long-standing bestseller since its release, the FIT KING FT-009A is the brand’s best rated foot and calf massager to date.

Fit King Leg Air Massager

We have actually reviewed it in this foot massager reviews of ours here but here’s a more detailed version.

Features

How this air compression leg massager works is by pressing the foot and calf muscles from lower to upper – toe to calves – to relieve fatigue and improve circulation.

2x 2 airbags are installed within to do this, with hoses connected to the leg cuffs/wraps. Once the compressor is turned on, the air chambers in each leg cuff will be filled up with air in the sequence you choose before gradually compressing each muscle group in the legs and feet repeatedly.

FIT KING massage area

What this does is that the wraps, by using these compression intervals, stimulate circulation in the hamstrings, calves and feet to help facilitate blood flow back to the heart.

This is particularly useful in helping with recovery after strenous activities such as running or tough workout sessions, or simply after having been stood too long.

You can choose the compression sequence you like the most and there are 2 modes – Sequential and Circulation -  in this model for you to choose from.

You may also see that it is advertised to be offering up to 10 massage techniques/system.

FIT KING remote control

What that means is that there are 5-10 times different inflation and deflation process in each massage system. Incidentally, the time in each massage mode and massage system is too, different.

All of which have 3 intensities (from light to tight massage experience) selectable via a remote control.

There is also a 20-minute timer function. Do not underestimate the usefulness of this – especially to the elderly because they do not have to worry about forgetting to turn it off.

Given you MAY fall asleep while using it, having an auto-shut off function like such is very helpful.

We like how this best rated foot massager has higher legs and longer feet wraps for a bigger coverage. They can be adjusted easily to change the size and intensity – just strap the velcro in the snugness you’d like.

At its own, the maximum calf size is 22 inches. 2 free extensions are provided though and they can fit up to 28.5 inches, so different people in the household are able to get a use out of it.

For the feet, if you find that it is a bit too tight, you too can make adjustment by cutting at the sewing lines at the top of the toe position to make more space.

Model: FIT KING FT-011A

The FT-011A is everything the FT-009A is, with one addition feature - heat.

Fit King FT-011A Foot and Leg Massager

Yes, this one has what’s known to be almost an indispensable massage feature many would love to have incorporated into their massage session, as evident by the number of heated foot massager searches conducted every day in the market.

FIT KING FT-011A heat pad

As pictured left, heat is dispensed at the knee area in this model.

There are 2 heating levels available to choose from - low and high - but should you desire, you can also turn it off completely and have just the massage separately.

So yes, you will have an additional button on the remote control for it here.

We will say the FT-011A is the best foot and calf massager especially for people with knee problems.

You see, when it comes to common foot or leg pain problems, people often neglect or forgot that the knees are also an area susceptible to quite the number of ailments.

FIT KING FT-011A knee heat

For instance, if you are always afraid of the cold or often complained of cold legs, there could be an underlying knee problem and not just the usual circulatory issues.

In that regard, the FT-011A will be the best heated foot massager for it because the concentrated heat at the knee area will help alleviate that, as well as any arthritis or knee pain issues.

Compared to the FT-009A, this one here has an additional "Whole" mode to choose from and that basically means a combination of both the "Sequential" and "Circulation" mode.

The rest of the features though, are the same as the FT-009A, including having 3 levels of intensities, 10 massage techniques and 2 free extensions.

Model: FIT KING FT-012A

Contrary to many’s belief, the FT-012A is not an extension or advanced model of the FT-011A.

Rather, we would say it is the FT-009A version with thigh coverage. This is because while its massages extends to the thigh, it does not cover the knee area with there being a cut-up in this part.

FIT KING FT-012A

But yes, this is also a thigh massager besides being one of the best foot calf massager as regarded by many.

If you have done your research well, you will know that there aren’t many of these available in the market (with this being another option).

FIT KING FT-012A massage area

What it does is pretty similar to the other two FIT KING models above, in that sequential compression massage is applied to relieve fatigue and pain as well as to improve body circulation.

But it goes one step beyond by having these massages applied to the thighs area so that the whole leg can receive the same stimulation, thereby increasing the efficacy of leg massage even more.

With an extra set of airbags on each side, you do get stronger massage/compression pressure compared to the former two models.

If the thigh wraps are a little too tight, there is an option for you to extend its circumference by purchasing thigh extensions that has a circumference range of 26" to 40" from FIT KING itself.

FIT KING FT-012A independent air channels

Similar to the FT-011A, the FT-012A also has 3 massage modes and 3 intensity levels.

However, because this one here has independent air channels and chammbers, you get to specifically choose the area you want your massages on.

For instance, you’d like to have just your calves massaged today, no problem - switch off the feet and thigh massage. Feeling like just the feet need pampering? Turn the other two off.

To those that are looking to have the whole leg massaged and not just the feet and calves, the FIT KING FT-012A will be the closest and best foot and leg massager in getting that.

Why An Air Compression Leg Massager?

While we wouldn’t say an air compression leg massager like is better than the traditional foot and calf massager, there are certain benefits that the latter does not possess.

One of them being portability.

Comparatively, an air leg compression massager is so much more compact in size. This makes it super portable as it can be folded up. If you have read our foot and calf massager reviews, you would know that most compression leg massagers, and not just the FIT KING, come with their very own carry bag.

fit king leg massager carry bag

This means not only are you able to have a massage anywhere in the house without having to go through the hassle of moving a bulky machine room to room, you can also pack it into your luggage and bring it with you on your travels.

And this, is perhaps one of the biggest appeal of air compression leg massagers.

You see, there is probably nothing better than coming back to the hotel/lodging after a long day’s worth of exploration on your feet to have your tired feet and calf muscles compressed and massaged.

Not everyone can afford to have a spa session all the time, so as an alternative, an air compression leg massager is the best foot massager in that regard.

Another benefit, and this is related to the portability point is that it is also easier to be tucked away in storage compared to the traditional bulky foot massagers. The latter will, no matter how small or big, take up some floor space inevitably.

If you don’t have much space to start with, having an extra item laying around can be quite the nuisance.

FIT KING packed

With something like the FIT KING, even if you don’t pack it back up into its bag after each use, it will still not take up much space.

At most, you may have lesser seating space on the couch but not a problem that can’t be easily solved by simply packing it away.

And of course, an air compression leg massager is much more cheaper than a foot and calf massager. Even for the more extensive models that cover up to the thighs like the FT-012A, it still cost only about a fraction of the latter’s price.

To a certain extent, it is also more versatile in the sense that it is able to fit a more varied user base. You see, one common complaint that continues to plague foot and calf massagers is the size limitation they pose to those with bigger feet and calves.

Certainly, they do not have the flexibility that an air leg massager provides whereby you get to adjust the snugness simply by tweaking the velcro straps of the wraps.

FIT KING calf size

While most are able to accommodate a range of sizes nowadays, there are still some that do not fit certain feet/calves size.

By providing extensions, compression leg massagers like the FIT KING is able to fit more people and best of all, these extensions are included in the package free of charge. All FIT KING models give out TWO free extensions.

Last but not least, an air compression leg massager does not require you to sit still at the edge of your seat to be able to get a foot massage.

fit king lay on couch
FIT KING lay flat

Once strapped in, you can lay your feet flat on the couch or even lie on your back to enjoy a blissful foot and calf massage. You know you’d always wanted to do that.

Keep in mind though, it is still an electric foot massager at the end of the day so you do have to be near a power outlet to get it functioning.

Who is Suitable?

We’ve mentioned here before, but a compression massage is especially beneficial to people with circulatory issues or problems like varicose veins or spider veins.

This is because it is one of the best calf massager with its sequential compression method being especially effective in stimulating blood flow and doubling the circulation thereby reducing inflammation and soreness.

varicose veins

We have had users testifying that their unsightly spider veins all gone after using the FIT KING FT-012 twice. Yep, TWICE only.

So if you’re battling with these issues, it’s worthwhile to give the FIT KING a go.

Apart from that, people with edema, neuropathy numbness or restless leg sydrome will also find immense relief with compression massages like these.

FIT KING relieve fatigue

RELIEVE FATIGUE AND PAIN   PEOPLE WHO:

  1. Have high labor intensity;
  2. Have high working pressure;
  3. Stand or sit for a long time;
  4. Travel frequently;

Wrapping Up

There are many air compression leg massagers in the market but FIT KING is no doubt the top foot massager regarded by many in the industry.

FIT KING

uKnead Foot and Calf Massager Review

uKnead Foot and Calf Massager

There are many reasons as to why the uKnead Foot and Calf Massager is regarded as the best foot calf massager by many but if we are to put it down to one reason, it would be its versatility.

What We Like

  • Dual action technology
  • Independent massage options available
  • Adjustable tilt angle for optimum positioning
  • Sleek and modern design

What We Don't

  • More expensive than other foot calf massagers

Product Highlights

Top to Bottom Full Coverage

uKnead employs what's called the Dual Action technology, where deep tissue shiatsu calf and foot rollers kneading is combined in perfect harmony with powerful air compression to create double the effect of massage therapy.

Now, you may say that many foot and calf massagers of this type has such combination, but how uKnead stands out among the rest is that it also incorporates rollers at the calves area in addition to the usual airbags installation that most others have.

You see, how foot and calf massagers usually work is that you get roller massage for the feet, while the calves are massaged by the compression of airbags. Not with this one here.

Anyway, let's look at its foot massage first, shall we?

uknead rollers

As pictured above, both airbags and rollers are installed at the foot compartment to provide both airbag compression and shiatsu massage to one of the most worked body parts of a human being.

In a cocoon style 'wrap-around' design, the airbags encapsulate the foot in every angle when inflated and this provides extensive coverage from the top down and all around for an unprecedented feel.

In particular, "Heel Grip Airbags" equipped with massage nodes are designed to specifically target the Achilles tendon area. If you ever had any problems or aches in this area, you're in for some unprecedented foot massage experience, let us tell you.

For its shiatsu foot rollers, uKnead employs long triple roller type modules to provide invigorating deep tissue shiatsu massages in the bottom of the feet to provide relief for symptoms arising from conditions such as plantar fasciitis and neuropathy.

uknead foot massage

Specifically, these roller modules are ultra long, spanning the entire length of the feet to ensure full coverage of the soles. To date, it is the one foot massager review that provides the highest surface area coverage on the market.

Meanwhile, spread out in a 2-4-2 layout are oversized rollers , heel nodes and full coverage mid-section bridge modules to cover and pamper every inch of your foot.

Moving on to the calves, there are 8 sequential full enclosure airbags spread and placed strategically throughout the whole of the length to envelop and engulf the calves.

The sequential air compression utilizes the inflation and deflation motion to apply firm pressure, thereby effectively promote circulation and de-swelling of the lower body.

All in total 16 accordion calf-to-toe airbags, oversized air cells flank the calves from side to side while uniquely shaped air cells sandwich the toes and feet from top to bottom for a totally immersive massage experience.

uknead airbags
uknead shiatsu calf rollers

Not stopping at just there, two oversized mechanical vertical rotational shiatsu calf rollers are also placed behind the calves to perform deep tissue massage to the calf muscles.

Exclusive only to this UK-580 model, these rollers mimic the shiatsu technique used by professional masseuses to effectively reach deep into the calf muscles to relieve and relax any leg muscle and soreness.

Paired with the full coverage calf massaging airbags, the uKnead UK-580 is easily the best calf massager providing the most extensive foot massage in the industry.

Modes & Programs

uKnead offers 3 auto modes - Comfortable Enjoyment, Fatigue Relief and Pain Management.

uknead massager control panel

For all three, you get to choose amongst 5 massage intensities for a personalized massage therapy.

After all, not everyone has the same pressure tolerance level.

All these, controlled via a user-friendly control panel that is designed for a straightforward user experience.

What we like in particular is that not only are manual modes available, they allow you to choose between having an all air massage, or a kneading only option. Not all models have this even if they have manual selection options, in that they only let you customize the level of intensity separately for each function.

In addition, you get to also select where you want heat to be applied. The calves only? Or just the feet? Or at both the calves and feet? This allows you to do all that - have your massage your way.

Heat Element Infused Soothing Air Compression

heat foot massage

Speaking of which, the uKnead comes with heat element.

At the touch of a button, soothing heat will spread along the calves and into the feet, for that oh-so-good feeling.

If you don't already know, heat compression helps in improving circulation in the lower body, which increases the efficiency of a foot massage.

Others

Apart from the above, what sets the uKnead Leg Massager apart includes an easy-to-change foot cloth liner that is completely removable and machine-washable for hygiene maintenance, as well as an ergonomic design that can be easily tilted to an angle.

The latter, especially, worth extra mentioning because if you have tried on a foot calf massager before, you will notice that you have to sit quite forward on your chair to be able to fit your legs properly into the machine.

It may not be much at first, but come 5 to 10 minutes later and it can feel quite uncomfortable, what's with sitting on the edge of your chair for a prolonged period. It can take away the relaxation factor, to say the least.

uknead adjusting angle

With a 45-degree varia-angle adjustment, you can adjust the uKnead into a reclining angle that suits you optimally in any seating position.

Be it a sofa or an office chair, all you have to do is just press a button under the side handle and swivel to tilt to your desired angle. There are 3 preset positions, and you can lock them in to secure.

Recommended For

While the uKnead UK-580 Leg Massager will provide superior massage quality to all users, people who suffer from the following conditions may be able to feel more in particular of the significant difference it brings to one's overall wellbeing:

  • Chronic pain
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Neuropathy numbness
  • Poor circulation and swelling
  • Leg & foot fibromyalgia
  • Varicose veins related circulatory issues

There are many ways you can get a foot massage, one of it being a foot and calf massager that allows you enjoy a reflexology session anytime, anywhere at home.

Best Foot And Calf Massager Reviews

A. Standard Foot and Calf Massage

This is your traditional type of foot and calf massagers - a standalone unit sitting on the ground giving you a massage from feet to calves, utilizing both roller massage and air compression techniques in most cases.

uKnead Leg Massager

The best foot calf massager in this category has to be the uKnead Leg Massager, hands down.

A dual action unit encompassing powerful shiatsu calf and foot rollers combined with air compression technology, it has everything you need for the ultimate foot massage therapy.

And, a 45-degree angle adjustment that no other foot calf massager has.

What stood out to us is the massage quality that the uKnead provides. You see, most foot and calf massagers offer compression massage at the calf while the feet get a roller-based massage. Not with this one here.

In addition to 8 sequential full airbags to compress at the calf, uKnead also places oversized shiatsu calf rollers behind the calves to perform a deep tissue massage that mimics the shiatsu technique used by professional masseuses at this area. While for its foot rollers, continue reading here to find out more about this top foot massager...

Naipo foot and calf massager

If you have been doing some research in the massage category, you will not be unfamiliar with the brand Naipo. One of the most renowned massage brand, it has released some of the best massage devices in the market that are well-received and well-loved by users across.

Its Foot and Calf Massager, likewise, does not disappoint. First of all, unlike anything you have seen before, this one here has a foldable design.

Yes, this is a 2-in-1 luxury foot massager in that if you fold the calf part 90 degrees down, you'll get a flat shiatsu foot massager just like any one of these. Unfold it and you'll get combined foot massage plus calf part compression massage.

Not only does this mean you get to enjoy your foot and calf massages separately if you want to, it also makes storage easier if you have limited space or generally do like a bulky item sitting around. For those that are short on space, this is the best electric foot  massager to get that wouldn't compromise any function for you.

In terms of massage function, you get shiatsu kneading rolling massage on the forefeet and soles, tapping on the heels and air compression surrounding the feet. The latter especially is what we like about the Naipo - that air compression is also provided at the feet and not just the calves only like most others.

There are 3 levels of vibration to further simulate the massage and 3 different pressure settings for you to choose the intensity. The heat source is located at the instep delivering a maximum temperature of 112 ºF across your foot and calf to melt away the fatigue.

Both air compression and rolling massage can be activated separately so that's another flexibility that we like about the Naipo. And oh, its cover is completely removable and washable for easy care and hygienic use.

Pros

  • Foldable design easy to store
  • Can have foot and calf massages independently
  • Air compression and rolling massage can be activated separately
  • Removable abd washable cover
  • 24-month warranty
  • 15-minute auto shut off

Cons

  • Does not fit feet size beyond 11

Overall, this is one excellent shiatsu foot massager with heat that we'd highly recommend to anyone especially those with feet ailments. In particular, it does an amazing job in relieving pain in the arch and heel so it's one of the best foot massager for plantar fasciitis.

There's a size limitation of up to size 11 only though, so be sure to check on this before you buy the Naipo Foot and Calf Massager.

Human Touch Reflex SOL foot and calf massager

Next up we have the Reflex SOL Foot and Calf Massager from Human Touch.

Again, this is another renowned massage brand that has released multiple variations just for foot and calf massager but this - the Reflex SOL, is the best foot and calf massager out of all in our opinion.

Its standout feature has to the CirQulation Figure-Eight - a patented technology that works to circulate blood from the feet toward the core of the body. What this does is that it forces blood back towards the heart for improved circulation, and allowing fresh nutrients to re-enter the calves and feet.

Because of this exclusive wrap around technology, it provides the most immediate and apparent effect of improved circulation out of all the shiatsu foot massager reviews we have done to date.

Adding to the effect is its warm air technology to further improve circulation as well as an extendable calf height mechanism to ensure even those of a taller range can get maximum coverage.

There are powerful rollers installed under the feet to give a robust reflexology massage to the sole and heel, which can be reinforced and further optimized by a deeply-penetrating vibrating foot massage. There are two intensity levels for you to choose from .

And similar to the uKnead is that it has an adjustable tilt base for you to choose the perfect massage angle for yourself, as well as a removable sleeve inserts for you to clean them regularly.

Pros

  • Patented CirQulation Figure-Eight technology
  • Extendable height for maximum massage coverage
  • Adjustable tilt base
  • Excellent circulation improvement effect
  • Removable and washable sleeve insert
  • 1 year warranty

Cons

  • Pressure can be a little intense for some

If you suffer from any conditions such as sore feet, fibromyalgia, plantar fasciitis, circulator issues, stress, restless leg syndrome or generally in need of instant pain relief, look no further - the Human Touch Reflex SOL Foot and Calf Massager is the best foot calf massager for you.

Expansion Wellness foot and calf massager

Comparatively, the Expansion Wellness Foot and Calf Massager may not be as well-known as other models in our foot and calf massager reviews. Nonetheless, it is one electric foot massager that we'd highly recommend especially if you are looking for a more affordable foot and calf massager.

This is the cheapest model out of all our foot and calf massager reviews in this category.

Even though it is at a much lower price point, it doesn't compromise on its massage quality. Designed to massage your calves, ankles, soles and feet at the same time, it offers multiple massages like plantar scraping, instep kneading, calf kneading and calf scraping.

Like uKnead, it also has shiatsu rollers installed to scrap behind the calves to fully relax the muscles there and its heating is designed with negative ion function to promote optimal foot health .

Likewise, this leg massager comes with a removable and washable cover that allows for cleaning to maintain good hygiene.

The downside will be that it cannot be tilted, which may not be a problem to many but if you're on the petite side, you may find yourself having to sit quite close to the edge of your chair to be able to get your massage at the right places. It still does the trick, just that you cannot be seated in a more comfortable position.

However, it can accommodate up to a size 13 fit so that's a plus point for this shiatsu foot massager.

Pros

  • More affordable than other foot calf massagers
  • 3 massage modes, heating levels and vibration levels
  • Reflexology, shiatsu, kneading and vibration techniques
  • LCD touch display
  • Removable and washable cover with zip

Cons

  • Cannot tilt

We will recommend the Expansion Wellness Foot and Calf Massager particularly to people who suffer from conditions like plantar fasciitis, diabetes and neuropathy because this one here does an amazing job in plantar scraping and instep kneading that provide rather instantaneous relief.

Homedics foot and calf massager

Last but not least, we have the Homedics Foot and Calf Massager.

You have probably came across quite the number of Homedics foot massager review while you're doing your research but this one here, in our opinion, takes the cake if you're looking for the best Homedics foot massager for your foot and calf.

First of all, it is one of the more affordable Homedics shiatsu foot massager out of all its other models. Not just that, but it is also cheaper than most foot calf massagers mentioned in this review.

In many ways, it resembles the Expansion Wellness in many aspects. It too, offers full-coverage, deep-kneading, rolling massage experience from calf to toe to all users. Not just that, but it also has the adjustable tilt angle that the former does not have for you to find the most comfortable position for yourself.

On top of that, there are 3 intensity levels for you to choose from and 4 unique massage programs for you to customize your massage experience.

However, where it falls short to us is that it is not a heated foot massager. Nevertheless, we acknowledge there are people who dislike the heating function so if you are one of them, the Homedics will be a great choice because you won't be paying for features that you won't use.

Pros

  • Comparatively cheaper than other models
  • 3 intensities and 4 massage modes
  • Adjustable tilt angle
  • Removable and washable liners

Cons

  • No heat

Overall, we wouldn't say the Homedics Foot and Calf Massager is the best foot and calf massager in the market - there are certainly better options out there - but if you're a huge fan of the Homedics foot massager range, this is one good option that caters to both feet and calves. Its price is something we cannot say no to, too.

B. Convertible Foot and Calf Massage

So, all the above foot massager reviews show one common trait - they are all rather bulky in size. This is pretty much unavoidable, given you are, after all, getting a foot and calf massage simultaneously

Nonetheless, if you have limited space at your place or you'd simply like to have the choice of choosing your calf and foot massages independently, then we have two excellent recommendations for you:

Miko Foot Calf Massager

Rarely will you come across a product that has received almost a full star rating, but that's exactly what the Miko Foot Massager is all about.

This electric foot massager is equipped with 4 air pressure pads, 5 adjustable pressure settings, 3 massage modes, vibration, deep-kneading function, & strong heat for a relaxing and invigorating home massage.

Featuring an open-ended design, it has a rotatable carrying handle that lets you sit it at any angle for the most optimum and comfortable position. Because of this, you can massage any part you want - foot, calf, leg, ankle and heel - independently, just adjust the position of your leg accordingly.

In particular, we have to commend its shiatsu rolling massage. The deep kneading provided by its precision acupressure nodes is comparable to that of a human masseuse, which makes it perfect as recovery or treatment for plantar fasciitis, neuropathy, poor circulation, diabetes, muscle tension, chronic pain relief etc.

You get to either select each massage feature individually, or you can combine them according to your preference. All pressure and intensity can be adjusted to suit your needs and there's even a magnetic wireless remote for you to do all that so that you don't have to bend down each time to change settings.

Also, Miko offers the best customer service we have ever encountered. Staffs are readily available to provide help and advice and they offer guaranteed customer satisfaction - which is full refund or replacement for any dissatisfaction. It is no wonder that the Miko Masuta II is such a best rated foot and calf massager.

Pros

  • Easy adjustable handle to create the best position
  • Fully customizable massage feature and variable intensity and pressure setting
  • Deep shiatsu massage comparable to a masseuse's
  • 360 degree massage effect with full compression
  • Wireless magnetic remote control
  • Removable inserts for washing
  • Excellent customer service with guaranteed customer satisfaction

Cons

Cloud Massage Shiatsu Foot Massager

Another best rated foot massager is the Cloud Massage Shiatsu Foot Massager, our top contender for best foot massager for plantar fasciitis which we have reviewed before, so you know you're in good hands here.

Like the Miko, this unit lets you massage both calf and foot separately.

Offering dual massage in the form of both vibration and compression, it also has heat and rollers to perform deep kneading shiatsu massage to relief any pain and keep blood circulating in your lower legs. Thanks to its innovative adjustable bar, you can massage all parts from feet, legs, calves to ankles and toes, separately.

It is not just a foot massager for plantar fasciitis, but for different conditions such as diabetics and neuropathy as well. Just keep in mind that it may apply more pressure than you're used to, so start from the lowest setting initially. Other than that, it’s a great choice if you prefer more the compression method.

Pros

  • A more compact design for easy storage
  • Amazing compression feature with multiple settings
  • Deep kneading massage comparable to a masseuse's
  • Adjustable into multiple angles for optimum comfort

Cons

  • Pressure can be a little too intense at first (need to start gradually)
  • Quite pricey

C. Air Compression Leg Massager

If both the Miko and Cloud Massage are still a little too bulky for your liking, why not consider a leg air compression massager instead?

These are so much more compact - they are super portable for you to bring it anywhere and are considerably cheaper than most traditional foot calf massagers, too.

Do note that there will be no vibration or roller massage provided, nonetheless, we've found 5 models that do an amazing job in simulating the hand compression and squeezing technique of a professional masseuse.

Fit King Leg Air Massager

Out of all the leg air compression massagers available in the market, "FIT KING" has to be one of the most popular and bestselling compression massager devices brand ever.

There are a few variations of leg air massagers that the brand has came out with but the FT-009A model, its bestseller, is what we are going to review today.

This foot and calf massager has 2x2 air bags inside that presses the foot and calf muscle from lower to upper to relieve fatigue and improve circulation.

All you have to do is just strap it on and choose using the handheld controller between 2 massage modes and 3 intensities to get a massage that simulate kneading and stroking of tissues.

It also comes with 2 size extensions so it can cater calf sizes of up to 28.5 inches. Not only is it larger, it is also higher and longer in the leg and feet wrap so it is able to fit most people.

Pros

  • 2 modes, 3 massage intensities
  • 10 massage techniques
  • Large and adjustable size with 2 size extensions provided
  • Portable design with free mesh bag
  • 20-minute timer
  • Cheaper than the rest

Cons

  • No heat (heat option available here)

The FIT KING FT-009A is suitable for anyone really, be it the young, the elderly, the athletes, office workers or people with high labor intensity - it helps improve blood circulation and relieve pain, helpful for restless leg syndrome, varicose veins, swollen legs or edema on leg ankle or foot.

As mentioned above, there are a few other models that FIT KING has came out with that too, have received rave reviews from users worldwide. If you'd like to find out what the differences are amongst the different models, continue reading here...

CINCOM Leg Air Compression Massager

Coming up very close is the CINCOM Leg Air Compression Massager. To be honest, we always struggle between picking this or the FIT KING, given this is an equally excellent massager as well.

Not just one of the best foot and leg massager, but one that caters to the thigh area as well. This is the model to go for if you're looking for an air compression full leg massager.

You see,  the all-around 3x3 airbags give a thorough massage at 11 precise acupuncture points from feet to thighs in a compression pattern that effectively mimics the human skeletal muscle pump.

By squeezing and massaging these points in a continuous cycle, it makes your muscles feel as if they were kneaded by hands. Not only do you get powerful and effective active compression that compliments your body's natural rhythm, you also get them in a safe way too.

There are 3 massage modes - Sequence, Circulation and Whole to cater to different needs and conditions and each has 3 intensity levels for you to choose. What's worthy to mention is that even though it uses just air compression technology, there are actually 10 different massage techniques provided.

Pros

  • 3 modes, 3 massage intensities, 10 different massage techniques
  • Adjust from feet to the thighs
  • Strong and powerful compression for relief and recovery
  • Large and adjustable size with 2 size extensions provided
  • Portable design with free mesh bag
  • 20-minute timer

Cons

  • No heat

Effective in improving body circulation, relieving pain and muscle compression, the CINCOM Leg Air Compression Massager is particularly helpful to those with restless leg syndrome, varicose veins, swollen legs and edema.

Quinear Leg Massager

The QUINEAR Leg Massager has something the rest don't - heat.

Yep, if there is one down side that is of the FIT KING and CINCOM, it will be that they do not come with heat.

This model here fills that void once and for all if you're looking for a heated foot massager in the form of an air compression leg massager.

The QUINEAR actually offers two heat settings - low and high ranging from 38°C to 55°C to suit different needs. It is completely independent from the massage function so you don't have to switch it on should you not feel like it.

Speaking of massage function, there are 2x2 airbags offering unique massage techniques that simulate the kneading and stroking of tissues at the feet and calves. Altogether, there are 3 massage modes and 3 intensities to choose from but note that it will not massage up to the thighs.

There is another element that makes the QUINEAR stood out from the rest - its removable flushing cloth sleeve. This means you can detach the inner sleeves and wash them regularly (in the washing machine) to keep them sanitary always.

Not a big detail, but nevertheless one that makes quite the difference especially as it prolongs the use of your leg massager.

Pros

  • 3 modes, 3 massage intensities
  • Best heated foot massager
  • Professional massage program
  • Removable machine-washable inner sleeve
  • Large and adjustable size with 2 size extensions provided
  • Comes with travel bag
  • 20-minute timer
  • 24 months warranty

Cons

  • Cord can be a little longer

While the QUINEAR Leg Massager suits anyone in general, we think it is the best foot and calf massager to the middle-aged or elderly especially those with circulation problems or cold feet because the presence of heat helps promote leg circulation so much better.

Of course, if you suffer from leg swelling, restless leg, fatigue from high heels or just spend a lot of time on your feet generally, you will find great relief from this leg massager. And oh, it does wonders to plantar fasciitis, too!

Triducna Leg Air Massager

Another heated foot massager option to consider is the TRIDUCNA Leg Air Massager. This too, is one of the best foot calf massager that comes with heat function at both feet and calves.

Similar to the QUINEAR, heat is optional so on days you don't feel like it, you can just switch it off with ease using the handheld controller that comes with it.

It offers 3 massage modes in that you get to choose whether you want just a calf or feet massage, or a combination of both simultaneously. There are 4 intensity levels for you to choose from so in that regard it is slightly more versatile than the QUINEAR (which has 3 intensity levels only).

However, the reason as to why we rate it lower than the former has two - (1) heat level and (2) capacity. This one here has one level of heat only, and at a maximum temperature of 113℉ (compared to the former's maximum of 131℉), such degree might not be sufficient for some.

Secondly, the maximum circumference at the calf for this one is 21 inch only. Compared to the foot and calf massager reviews above, this undeniably limits more of its user base.

Pros

  • 3 modes, 4 massage intensities
  • Optional heat function
  • Cheaper and more affordable
  • Travel bag included
  • 20-minute timer

Cons

  • Smaller fit at the calf than the rest

Nevertheless, if you've checked your calf measurements and find that they fit, the TRIDUCNA Leg Air Massager is no doubt a great option because it is considerably cheaper than other models. For one at this price point to have its functions and be equipped with heat, this is certainly one best buy foot massager.

RENPHO Compression Leg Massager

If you like the application of also the thighs besides feet and calves like the CINCOM, we have another recommendation for you - the RENPHO Compression Leg Air Massager

Not just that, but because the thigh and calf wraps are detachable from one another, you get the option of massaging just one of the areas only, if you desire. Instead, you can use the wraps for your arms

Yes, the versatility to also massage our arms is certainly one of the biggest appeal of the RENPHO to us. It is the only model that allows this out of all the leg compression foot and calf massager reviews here - should you not feel like it, you can detach the thigh wrap and have just your feet and calves massaged like any foot and calf massager.

It also has the most massage modes and intensities  - a total of 6 and 4 respectively so there's a greater range for people to find the right combination that suits them. Just like others, you can do so using the handheld controller that's provided.

Why then do we rate it lower than the CINCOM, you may ask? Well, its size is one of the main reasons. This one here can only accommodate a calf size of 24.8 inches maximum, compared to the latter's 28.5 inches. It doesn't come with any size extension and also, a travel bag is not provided in any form.

Pros

  • 6 modes, 4 massage intensities, 3 massage sequences
  • Detachable thigh and calf wraps - can be used for the arms
  • Can be combined or operate individually
  • Strong compression
  • 20-minute timer
  • 12-month warranty

Cons

  • Smaller calf fit comparatively
  • No travel bag provided

As you can see, they are not major downsides - if your calf fit, this wouldn't even be a problem. Even if no bag is provided, it folds up to fit in luggages. Given it is a full leg massager, we consider it to be quite compact already.

RENPHO is quite the reputable massage device brand - it has made some of the best foot massager for plantar fasciitis in the market so its foot and calf massager will not disappoint here. Although it suits anyone, we think it is especially effective for active people in need of exercise recovery.

Benefits of Foot and Calf Massage

While most of us know how a foot and calf massage brings about almost an instantaneous relaxation effect, do you know just what exactly does it do to your overall wellbeing?

1. Improved Circulation

We don't think there will be anyone that disagrees with us on this one here. Probably the most apparent benefit, a foot and calf massage will immensely improve the circulation of your body overall.

feet pressure points

You see, according to the idea from circulation and muscle contraction inside the human body, improving circulation from the lower extremities through your whole leg help push your circulation flow upwards towards the heart naturally by targeting the 11 precise acupuncture points at the bottom of the feet.

By massaging deeply at these areas together with simulation of the muscle contraction, you get better blood flow and when this happens, it eliminates conditions like cold hands/ feet naturally besides giving you a healthier heart and aiding in any ailment recovery, which brings us to our next point.

2. Pain and Stress Relief

Most of us, at some point of time in our life, will experience some kind of pain or soreness at our legs

It could be on a daily basis due to sitting for too long in front of a desk or standing for long hours, or it could be from things like exercising, high heels or even old age.

foot leg massagers

Whatever the cause, a foot and calf massage brings about much ease and relief to the aches as it compresses, kneads and vibrates all over your leg. All these stimulate tissue repair to bring about quicker recovery. At the very least, it eases pain to a certain degree.

People with conditions like restless leg syndromevaricose veinsplantar fasciitisheel spurs and diabetic neuropathy will hugely benefit from a foot and calf massage.

3. Beautify Legs and Strengthening Muscles

Now this may not be apparent to many, but through regularly massaging your legs, it helps to also beautify the shape of the leg (which is something we believe will be welcomed by all females, or males) and strengthen the muscles.

In particular, it helps get rid of swollen legs or edema through the improvement in circulation.

A word of caution

Having said the above, despite all the benefits a foot and calf massage is able to provide, caution should be given if you have any of the following conditions:

  • Using pacemaker or other similar implantable medical devices which are susceptible to electrical interference;
  •  Suffering from osteoporosis, malignant tumors or cardiac diseases;
  • Has health conditions like high blood pressure or abnormal blood pressure;

Buyer's Guide: How To Choose The Best Foot Calf Massager

Whilst we have listed out the key features of each different unit above, in general, here are the things to consider when choosing the best foot calf massager for yourself:

1. Type of Massager

As you can see from our foot and calf massager reviews above, there are different types of foot and calf massagers. How do you choose which type to go for?

Perhaps size and functions will help you determine. These two are, after all, the biggest differences amongst the different type of foot calf massagers.

The standard foot calf massager massages both foot and calf simultaneously, but compared to the others, it is rather bulky in size. They will require more floor space, though this model here allows you to fold it together to save space on storage.

convertible foot massagers
miko portable handle

If you are short on space, then there are two types you can go for - convertible foot and calf massagers, and air compression leg massagers.

The former is like your standard foot massagers complete with rollers and compression techniques, however, you will have to compromise getting a foot and calf massage at the same time.

renpho air leg massager

The latter does massage your foot and calf simultaneously, with some even going as far up as the thigh and arms but it does not vibrate or knead nor does it have any rollers.

They do simulate the hand compression and squeezing technique very well though, and all 5 recommendations we presented above do an excellent job in that.

So yes, besides size, contemplating whether rollers massage is a MUST, or you can do away with just air compression massages may be another good starting point to decide on which best foot calf massager to buy.

2. Features

Having decided on the type of foot massager you want to go for, next is to consider the features that you want.

Although they are more or less the same in this regard, note that there are no two foot massagers in the market that are completely identical.

So think about the features that are 100% necessary for you, and what it is that you can do without.

heat foot massage

Some indispensable ones though, in our opinion, include heat and intensity.

Heat helps speed up the circulation process, doubling up the effect whilst intensity levels allow different users to choose the pressure that suits them best.

Also, timer is very important especially if there will be elderly users in the household.

This is because there is a higher chance of the elderly forgetting to turn off the massager as they fell asleep - having an automatic shut-off function will prevent overuse and ensuring the safety of everyone.

One thing that is often neglected by many is the foot size capacity of a foot massager. Yes, most models nowadays are able to accommodate most sizes but for close-toe design, we'd still advise that you check on the maximum size capacity first because unlike open-toe designs, if they don't fit, they don't.

If, especially, you are going for the air compression leg massager type, all the more you should check on the calf size because not all are the same.

For instance, this one here is 7.5 inches smaller than the average size. If there are multiple users in the household, we recommend getting one that comes with size extensions to meet any leg size.

3. Budget

As with everything else, you should think about how much you are willing to spend on your massager.

Having a budget set prior will clarify the direction you are going for, for one, you won't waste time on browsing models that are beyond your budget.

dollar gif

The price range can be quite vast between the different types of foot massagers - it can go as high as $500 though these are definitely higher end models, then there are those you can get below $100.

If budget isn't that big an issue for you though, we recommend looking into the features and reviews of each massager first to see their value. You do not have to buy the most expensive model, but you certainly do NOT want to scrimp on it as well.

4. Ease of Use

This includes having a digital LED- display interface or remote control options, the latter of which are common in air compression leg massagers.

magnetic remote foot massager

We like this one here because not only does it come with a remote control, its remote control is magnetic.

This way, you don't have to worry about losing it.

For those with manual controls, make sure it is positioned in an area that you can reach without straining yourself.

For instance, you wouldn't want one that has its switch located behind or underneath the unit. All models recommended in our foot massager review above do not have this problem, so rest assured you can shop in peace.

Another thing to take note of are foot inserts. We do recommend getting those that are removable so that you can easily wash or replace them, especially if there will be multiple users in the household.

5. Any Other Health Conditions

Last but not least, a foot calf massager is not designated to those with leg aches only i.e. runners/hikers.

As mentioned above, the feet is tightly connected to all body parts so if you suffer from conditions beyond running aches, you would benefit from a foot calf massage as well.

If you have diabetes, circulation problems or plantar fasciitis, look for a massager that focuses more on these conditions. For example, the Cloud Massage is a well-known foot massager for plantar fasciitis.

On the other hand, you may want to look for the best calf massager if say, you have varicose veins.

Of course, remember to talk with your doctor first if you suffer from any health conditions because as mentioned above, foot and calf massages are not for everyone despite them posing the many benefits.

Wrapping Up

Now that you've had an in-depth read about some of the best calf massager on the market, the question of 'what is the best foot massager' should no longer be one that confuses you anymore.

While each model we've reviewed above are easily the best available in the current market, choosing one that suits your needs, lifestyle and body is what's most important.

foot massage

Whatever the reason is that you need a foot massage, getting a foot and calf massager will save you a lot of money and time in the long run.

There are other foot massager options available, but if we're talking about coverage of the whole leg, it will still be the best foot and calf massager that does the trick.

Using it on a regular basis is a great way to fight everyday stress and ward off foot and leg problems as you age. So don’t wait any longer and invest in any of these massagers now!

MaxKare Foot Spa Massager Review

MaxKare Foot Spa Massager

So, MaxKare has released some of the best foot spa massagers in the market (two of which have made it to our best foot massager reviews here) but today, we are going to review this model - a constant bestseller and also one of the best rated foot massager in the market.

What We Like

  • 3 modes available
  • 16 massage rollers
  • Hydroelectric separation

What We Don't

  • Basin tub is a little shallow

Features and Functions

One thing that sets the MaxKare apart from the rest of its competitors is definitely its number of rollers - there's a whopping 16 rollers altogether, 8 on each side lining from the toe to heel.

MaxKare foot spa

Each roller is dotted with acu-nodes so by rolling your feet back and forth on them, you get a deep massage reflexology that stimulates the pressure points and dredges your meridians, both of which will improve your overall metabolism and sleeping quality.

You can adjust the speed and intensity by changing the way you roll your feet - should you not feel like it, these rollers are even removable for just a plain foot soak.

Enhancing the whole pampering experience is the presence of jacuzzi-like bubble massage. There are two bubbling outlet located right in between the rollers so you get jets of bubble shooting up the arches of your feet.

What this does is that when combined with rhythmic vibration, the bubbles stroke at the soles to further help loosen any stiffness at the foot, thereby effectively easing any form of tension and stress.

It wouldn't be so highly rated if it's not a heated foot massager.

maxkare heating element

The MaxKare has a heating element that heats and maintains water at selected temperature (95-118°F) so there is no need to keep refilling hot water or temperature dropping.

In fact, its heat element is one thing that is always highly commended by users - that it heats up very quickly, and truly maintains at the temperature you set without failing.

However, because the heating core is placed in the middle of the foot bath, it is recommended that you switch on the bubbling function as well when the water is heating up to accelerate water circulation.

And unlike some models where putting in spa aids like bath salt and essential oil will clog up or damage the unit, MaxKare has a medicine box for you to do so safely so that you can further de-stress with your preferred spa materials.

Design

When it comes to design, this foot bath massager employs a stylish digital display that has indicator lights to help track your working settings conveniently and visibly.

There are 4 clearly marked buttons so you can control and adjust all the functions with just a simple touch of the finger.

maxkare display setting

Speaking of which, there are 3 modes available for you to choose from:

Mode 1: High-frequency Vibrating Massage

Mode 2: Heating Therapy + Aerobic Bubble Massage

Mode 3: Heating Therapy + Aerobic Bubble Massage + Vibrating Massage

You can still manually change the settings to your desire, and that is what we like about the MaxKare Foot Spa Massager

Do note that you are not supposed to switch on the heat function without adding water into the foot bath. Doing so will easily burn out the motor and cause product malfunction. It may seem pretty common sense, but you'll be surprised at what some people may do so just keep that in mind.

Also, the basin is a little shallow so it barely reaches the ankle, even though you've filled it to the brim that's allowed. This is perhaps the only downside of this foot bath machine for us. If you're one that prefer water going over your ankle (even reaching the calf), then this other model from them may be a better choice for you.

ACEVIVI Foot Spa Massager Review

Acevivi Foot Bath Massager

It takes a lot to be dubbed the 'best foot spa massager', given the many and stiff competition around, but that's exactly what ACEVIVI foot bath massager manages to achieve.

One of the best rated foot massager, it has everything you can ask for in a foot spa massager.

What We Like

  • All in one unit
  • Varying massage modes
  • Soak up to the calves

What We Don't

  • More expensive than other foot bath massagers

Features and Functions

At a glance, this water foot massager combines acupressure, shiatsu, heating therapy and oxygen bubbles in one unit to enhance blood circulation, relieves fatigue and improve metabolism.

How it achieves this is via  5 core working parts:

Tai Chi Rotating Wheel

Now, you don't see this pebble-rolling auto-massage feature in many foot spa massagers, which is one of the reasons the ACEVIVI stood out to us.

acevivi taichi rotating wheels

This is the most distinctive and authentic massage point. Mainly applied to the front toe and back heel, there are two on each side of the foot. As you know, the sole has a lot of acupuncture point firmly related to different organs.

By massaging the right spot, it improves the organ's performance substantially. Just place your foot on top of it and feel the bliss.

As these Tai Chi wheels massage the toes and heels separately, they provide great relief to plantar fasciitis suffers because the sole is given extra attention compared to other models. Because of this, many regard it as one of the best foot massager for plantar fasciitis.

Maize Rollers

If you think the middle or arch of the foot are neglected because the Tai Chi wheels do not reach these areas, you cannot be more wrong.

acevivi corn wheels

Two maize-like rollers are installed in between the wheels just to massage that area.

With a surface that has like a million of corns, the constant rolling of these rollers presses these "corns" into the acupuncture points of the foot, stimulating them and relieving the feet from strain and tension.

Oxygen Bubble Massage

Let's not forget its bubble function. Numerous warming bubbles are released in a surge and what this does is effectively relax your soles to help promote blood circulation and metabolism, adding more comfort for your foot spa massage.

Not just that, but because it releases air into the basin, it allows water in the basin to roll. This in turn equalizes the overall temperature of the water, as well as accelerates water heating which brings us to our next point.

Heat Therapy
acevivi red light

Using a PTC heater with multi-insulation protection and double overheating protection, the ACEVIVI foot spa massager heats in minutes with a temperature range of 35℃ to 48℃ (95°F~118°F).

Once it reaches your desired temperature, it will then maintain at that constant degree so you don't have to keep adjusting it.

Not only does heat enhance the therapeutic effect of a foot massage, it also helps with swelling, throbbing and redness. An infrared light adds to the effect by effectively killing germs and sanitizing the whole feet.

Foot Stone

acevivi foot stone

On top of all that, there is a callus remover foot stone located in the center of the basin. If you don't already know, there are actually many shackles and dead skin located on the outside of the feet and back heels.

This automatic grinding foot stone means you can just put one side of your heel on it and it will do all the hard job for you.

All the above - controllable independently via a remote control that is provided for your easy operation.

Design

When it comes to design, ACEVIVI employs what most foot bath massagers with motorized rollers have - a deep basin tub with moving wheels.

What this means is that you can have a deep foot soak up till your calf area in this foot bath massager. For those who work on their feet for long hours, there is nothing more blissful than this.

Given that it has to load considerably more water than the usual standard tubs, it may become an arduous task to empty the tank. Don't worry, this foot spa massager has an auto-drainage system that makes it super convenient to empty all the water.

Not only does this save you a lot of effort, it also saves a lot of water discharge time, not to mention that drainage is also more thorough.

acevivi design features

Speaking of effort, this unit also comes with detachable universal wheels for you to wheel it from one room to other so you don't have to strain your arms carrying litres of water.

There is still a portable handle incorporated should you wish to do so, otherwise just tuck it in and the handle becomes 'invisible'. The wheels are lockable if you want the unit to stand still.

Last but not least, and this is a small detail but the ACEVIVI foot spa also comes with a dust proof cover so that it can keep dust (and other particles) away from the basin when not in use. Not all foot spa massagers have this and we like how it keeps the unit clean and hygienic all the time.

The ACEVIVI Foot Bath Massager is, amongst all the competition in the market, the best foot spa we can find that strikes a good balance between being multifunctional and affordable.

Overall, it is the best home foot spa that does a wonderful job in comforting achy heels, toes, arches and ankles. We highly recommend it to all athletes and people who work on their feet, or simply anyone that'd want to give their feet a little luxury indulgence.
