Comfier Wireless Hand Massager Review

Comfier Wireless Hand Massager

For those of you looking for a straightforward massager for hands that simply gets the job done (and a job done well), the Comfier Wireless Hand Massager is the one for you.

What We Like

  • Very lightweight
  • Compact and portable
  • 3 heat and intensity levels
  • ... more below

What We Don't

  • Rather short design

Features & Functions

The Comfier adopts the air compression + heat therapy technology that is the standard mechanism employed across most hand massagers.

Air compression and heat therapy

It also works on the fingers and knuckles to ensure total relaxation of the whole hand. You can rest assured that this is not one of those that massages the palm only.

Because of this, it is very effective in terms of soothing finger knots and relieving carpal tunnel syndrome / any finger pain.

Air Pressure Massage

- Built in air pressure inflates and deflates on all sides of the hand.

- Rhythmically pressurize the whole area starting from wrist to palm and fingers.

- 3 pressure modes and 3 levels of intensity available to choose.

Soothing Heat Therapy

- Heat compression helps keep hands warm and prevent dryness.

- Promote blood circulation and ease any swelling, sore muscles, numbness and cold fingers and palm.

-3 heat levels available.

In particular, we like how it offers 3 heat settings (like the PGG) as opposed to those that come with 1 constant temperature only because this gives the user more options.

You see, there may be days where you'd need a higher temperature to soothe the nerves. Then there are those times where you'd want to go easy on it. On certain days, you might not even want heat at all. The Comfier can perfectly accommodate to all of that.

On top of that, there is a 30-minute timer inbuilt to ensure safe use.

We've mentioned at the start of this hand massager review that this is a straightforward device. You can probably already tell from its outlook as well - there is no multitude of buttons to navigate around.

All you get is just 3 buttons - one for powering the device on/off, one for heat and another for intensity.

That's all you need really - anyone would be able to figure out how to use it without referring to the user manual. Having said that, we'd still advise going through it once before you start using the device.

Comfier button interface

In any case, the illustration on the left shows clearly what you need to do in terms of adjusting the settings into the massage mode you want.

By pressing on the respective button a few times, you get to change the heat and intensity setting to the level you want. There will be different lighting to indicate which level you are in so you can always keep track on the settings you've set.

Not a surprise there, but the Comfier also adopts the cordless design like any best hand massager would have.

This means you can bring it anywhere with you, even abroad, and have a hand massage anytime you feel like it.

Given it is one of the lightest hand massager in the market, its portability is really second to none - users have even commented that they can walk around with the Comfier in hand, while in use!

Definitely the best portable massager if you were to ask us!

Comfier wireless rechargeable

It comes with a lithium ion battery so it will never need to be replaced - all you have to do each time the device runs out of battery is to plug in the provided USB cord and connect it to a power source to recharge.

As shown on the image left, you can charge it with your phone adapter, laptop or even power bank - basically any outlet that is compatible with a USB cable really.

Out of the many hand massagers available in the market, Comfier's warranty and returns policy is one of the most varied.

Comfier warranty

While it may not offer as long a lifetime warranty as the Lunix LX3, its 24-month guarantee period is pretty distinctive on its own.

On top of that, there is a 30-day unconditional return policy as well as 90-day refund/exchange guarantee offered to those who change their mind or for some reason, find the Comfier unsatisfying.

All these go to show how confident the brand is towards its product and its quality, to the extent that it has no reservation to offer such flexible returns policy.

And this, is certainly an assurance to all potential buyers.

Things to Note

Like many hand massagers, the Comfier has one common 'shortfall' that is - the overall design leans on the short side.

By that we don't mean you will have trouble fitting in your hand, not at all. The Comfier will fit even if you have big hands but what we're saying is that it may not be able to cover the wrist area.

It may not seem obvious at a glance, considering most massagers for hands adopt this sizing more or less but if you compare it with models like the Lunix LX3 or Prourbier, the difference can be pretty distinctive.

Depending on your preference, this may not necessarily mean a bad thing. The shorter design no doubt gives it a more compact built and therefore better portability.

However, if you like to have your entire hand (including wrist) enveloped to get a thorough hand massage, you may feel disappointed with this one here. For that, we recommend you checking out the aforementioned LX3/Prourbier.

  • Very lightweight
  • Cordless and portable
  • Simple interface and operation
  • 30-minute timer incorporated
  • Under $100

  • Rather short design

Wrapping Up

Overall, we'd say the Comfier Wireless Hand Massager is an excellent massage machine for hands, one that we will have no trouble recommending to anyone at all.

Not only does it make for one best home massager for hands, its greatest feature - portability - is also one of our favourite aspect as well because you can literally bring it with you anywhere you go.

hand massager suitable for

We also like how EFFECTIVE it is in terms of alleviating the many common hand syndromes that so many of us suffer from nowadays. From slightly minor ones like cold hands and mouse hands to chronic rheumatoid arthritis and carpal tunnel - the Comfier soothes them all.

Highly recommend!

PGG Cordless Electric Hand Massager Review

PGG Cordless Hand Massager

The PGG X7 Pro is the best shiatsu massager for the hands for many reasons.

An easy to operate portable wave air pressure heated hand massager, it is the No.1 gift choice for many to their loved ones on birthdays, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving or Christmas to ease their hand pain and improve their health.

What We Like

  • 3 heat settings
  • Quick recharging time
  • Cordless
  • ... more below

What We Don't

  • Slightly short design

Features & Functions

Out of everything, what PGG X7 Pro stood out to us most is its adjustable heat setting

If you have read our review for the LX3, you will know that the single constant heat setting is one aspect we wish it'd improve on.

The X7 Pro addresses precisely just that. This massager for hands offers 3 different heat levels for you to choose from, with a maximum temperature that reaches up to 40 degrees Celsius.

PGG heating mode

Such a bigger heat variation means that it can suit different people with different heat tolerance. Even if you're the only person using it, your requirements may change too depending on the day.

The best thing? It doesn't take long for the device to reach the chosen heat setting. As pictured left, it only takes 5 minutes to reach 30-35 degrees, with another 5 minutes longer if you wish to go higher.

If you are unsure as to why heat is such an important element in a hand massager, it is because gentle heat therapy promotes blood circulation.

What entails thereafter is the easing of any soreness, numbness or cold fingers/palm problems, as well as keeping your hands moist to prevent dryness and dehydration.

Modes and Intensity

You can personalize your massage in 2 pressure programs and there are 3 intensity levels for you to select.

Speaking of which, the PGG X7 Pro adopts the standard air pressure + hot compress technology to deliver its hand massage therapy. This is where airbags are employed to give a rhythmic flow of inflation and deflation motions to press on the acupressure points in the hands.

PGG air pressure hot compress

As one would have known, there are many acupuncture points on our palms. The consistent pressing on them increases blood circulation to the associating areas, and what happens next is the increase level of oxygen to your hands.

Aided by the aforementioned gentle warmth, this effectively relieve arthritis, carpal tunnel and any pain caused by finger numbness.

For further detailed explanation, click here to understand more what goes behind this concept.

Cordless & Ergonomic

The PGG Hand Massager is designed to give you the most comfortable and efficient massage.

PGG cordless design

Based on the principles of human engineering and acupuncture, it adopts a cordless and compact design to make for the best portable massager.

Super lightweight, it is convenient to use at home, in the office or on the go.

In particular, it is built in with rechargeable lithium ion battery (which is also provided in the package) so you will never need to replace it.

Chargeable via a USB cord that comes with it, 30 minutes is all you need for one full charge. Compared to some that take you hours, this is no doubt one of PGG's bestselling feature.

PGG ergonomic design

The interior adopts an ergonomic design according to the acupressure point distribution so that each vital point can be targeted simultaneously with effect.

Do not worry about the dimples forming at the end of a session, they will disappear within 10 minutes usually.

In fact, if you look at this comparison chart , you can see that the X7 Pro is one of the lightest hand massager out of all the models included in our best hand massager review.

We really are not exaggerating when we say this is the best portable massager in the market.

Intuitive Display

One cannot not mention its display buttons as well. As you would know, hand massagers are not the easiest to operate (despite their small size) so it is important to have an intuitive display.

In that regard, we have to say that X7 Pro's interface is rather easy to use although it may not be as straightforward as the Lunix LX3.

PGG button operation sequence

As pictured left, there are 5 buttons for you to adjust the settings you want.

Just looking at the symbols alone may not be clear enough if you did not look at the instruction manual or our illustration on the left so that's where it falls short to us compared to the LX3.

Nevertheless, once you get the hang of it, it should be pretty straightforward.

Another thing that we like the LX3 better in this aspect is that it shows the level of settings you are on.

This is just a preference of ours as we like to know precisely which level we are on, what pressure we have selected. But yes, this is a small detail to take note of.

Same like the Linux LX3 though is that the PGG also comes with a set of handheld finger massager in each box.

PGG Handheld Finger Massager

This little device will help with blood circulation, brain activity and sense of touch on the fingers.

It is one of the devices people rely heavily on back in the days where an automatic/electric hand machine is practically unheard of, to give them the relief their tired fingers need.

But wait, the free gifts do not stop there. The X7 Pro also comes with a set of gloves to give you the option to massage your hands with hand creams/lotions applied.

They will protect the interior from getting stained by oil/other components of your hand creams, thereby protecting the longevity and life span of the device.

We like how this hand massager doesn't only help tackle pain issues - it gives you the luxury of having a hand care treatment at home without paying for the expensive spa costs.

Things to Note

Do note that the X7 Pro has a shorter design when compared to the Linux or Prourbier

This means it may not envelop that much of the wrist. To those who'd like to have this area massaged as well, this aspect may be a shortfall to you.

Nevertheless, the size it is in is pretty much the same as the standard as what most hand massagers in the market have. It will have no trouble covering the whole of the palm/hand so even if your hands lean on the bigger side, there is no need to worry about it not fitting.

  • 3 heat settings
  • Cordless and ergonomic
  • Fast recharging time
  • Handheld finger massager and gloves included
  • 30-day full refund policy

  • Slightly short design

Wrapping Up

As mentioned above, the PGG X7 Pro Cordless Hand Massager is not just a massage device for pain relief per se.

It does an excellent job likewise in reviving rough hands, tired hands or cold hands - common problems that many of us face in our daily life.

symptoms suitable for hand massagers

We also think that is also one of the most reasonably-priced hand massager in the market. Especially with the number of extra accessories included in the package, it is definitely one of the best buy massager if we may say so ourselves.

Lunix Cordless Electric Hand Massager Review

Lunix Cordless Electric Hand Massager

If you have read our best hand massager review here, you will know that the Lunix LX3 Cordless Electric Hand Massager is our top choice out of all the excellent hand massagers that are available in the market.

That is saying a lot, considering the competition is strong with this one here.

What We Like

  • 6 modes and intensity levels
  • Vibration modes available
  • Additional massage equipment provided

What We Don't

  • Only 1 heat setting

Features & Functions

The first aspect that sets the Lunix LX3 apart from the rest is the technology adopted.

You see, the standard formula employs across most (if not all) hand massagers is the Air Pressure + Heat Compression combination. This is what goes behind the massages you receive from a good hand massager.

The LX3 is no exception, however, it goes a step further by engineering vibration modes into its mechanism. This makes all the difference as such an addition offers you the closest feeling to a REAL hand massage.

Lunix settings

To a very great extent, this is what draws people to the LX3 - because of the human-like sensation they receive. The ergonomic hand position design certainly aids to that.

But yes, back to the Air Pressure + Heat Compression combination.

Air Pressure + Heat Compression

Through the use of airbags, the palm, hand, wrist and all fingers are squeezed and compressed by the hundreds and thousands of bumps set inside.

Lunix air pressure hot compression

Various acupressure points are being stretched and straightened out during the process, allowing your hands to get the thorough stimulation it requires.

To be the best hand massager, heat is an indispensable element. For this one here, it provides a gentle warmth around 104°F - the optimum temperature found to offer the best heat therapy to the human body.

Such incorporation of heat helps accelerates blood flow, which then enables more oxygen to be delivered to the problematic areas. What this does is that it quickens the healing process, enhancing the effectiveness of the hand massage.

This is why hand massagers are able to aid in hand symptoms like arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome or the common cold hands / stiff fingers problems.

It is not just some baseless claims though. Over 300 physical hand therapy patients have actually tested the LX3, all having successfully experienced a significant DECREASE in arthritis pain as well as FASTER recovery after carpal tunnel surgery.

Modes and Intensity

It is worthy to note that the Lunix LX3 is equipped with 6 massage programs. That is the most on the market to date.

Lunix features

Likewise, it also offers 6 intensity levels (again, the most the market has available nowadays) for you to customize a setting that best suits your needs and requirements.

As mentioned above, it also comes with the Vibration method that no other model is equipped with, of which there are also 2 modes for you to choose from.

Each massage sessions last 15 minutes, with the device switching off automatically when time is up.

This provides an additional layer of safety feature but really, you have nothing to worry about with this FDA-approved massage device.

Compared to other models, you can see that the Lunix LX3 has a longer body design.

13.38 inches to be exact. The device is therefore able to envelop the entire hand from palm to wrist and even beyond it. As opposed to some others which may not cover the whole of the hand or they do not go to the wrist which some may like to get massaged as well.

This is no doubt one of its bestselling feature. To date, the other model that is comparable in this aspect is the Prourbier. You can check out it here if you'd like to compare between the two.

Lunix dimples

The interior is made of soft cushion to ensure 100% comfort but do note that there may be a tingling feeling. This is completely normal.

You may also notice these little dimples forming after a session with the LX3 - again, this is 100% normal.

It just goes to show the efficiency of the kneading provided by the massager across the distribution of acupuncture points on the hand.

You will be pleased to find that the Lunix LX3 adopts a cordless design. This gives it the portability many desire as you'd want to be able to have a hand massage any time, anywhere if possible.

Lunix portable hand massager

Adding to the portability aspect is its compact design which allows you to even bring it aboard with you when you go travelling.

Because you know, the pain doesn't stop just because you're on vacation if you're suffering from ailments like rheumatoid arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome.

A USB charging cable is provided for you to recharge the device when it runs out of battery.

You may use a 5V plug to charge it, however, we'd advise using the cable provided to ensure longevity of the device.

Intuitive Display

We like how the LX3 has an intuitive display. If you compare it with the others, you can see that its display is much bigger so you can easily see what settings you're on.

Lunix display

You see, a hand massager may not be the easiest to use without a clear and step-by-step user manual.

This intuitive display allows you to choose the ideal massage compression level easily so that you may not even need the manual.

Bonus Points

Now this is not something offered in every hand massager but the LX3 also includes a finger massager in its package.

Lunix finger massager

What this little guy here does is that it helps with blood circulation, brain activity and sense of touch.

This is probably one of the earliest kind of massager related to the hands in any way, a roller massage that targets at the pressure points of the fingers to soothe and relax.

Given that the LX3 is not in any way priced higher than other competitors, to have an extra massage equipment included in the package is no doubt a thoughtful consideration that is highly appreciated.

Things to Note

Having said that, there are certainly aspects that we think the Linux can improve on.

For one, there could be more heat settings.

As mentioned above, it only has one heat level. Whilst this is not something too out-of-the-ordinary (considering many other models offer the same thing), you get hand massagers like this (or this) that come with up to 3 settings.

Comparatively, this may make the Linux slightly inferior in this aspect. Obviously, more variety means giving users more options and that, is always a good thing.

We wouldn't say it is a deal breaker in any way though certainly. After all, the temperature setting inputted is the optimum for the human body in terms of therapeutic purposes. But yes, this may be something you'd want to keep in mind about.

The 8 Best Hand Massagers for Effective Arthritis & Other Pain Relief

Best Hand Massager

Compared to foot massagers where types and variations are plentiful and many, the choices are notably less varied when it comes to hand massagers.

Nevertheless, the demand for a good hand massager is many and on the rise, with more and more people suffering from painful conditions like carpal tunnel, arthritis and the likes.

We have done our foot massager review, naturally, we need to do one for our hands as well. Here's our take.

Top 8 Best Hand Massager Review

It is worthy to note that a hand massager is completely different from a handheld massager.

Some people got confused between them given the similarity in their names, but know that they are two completely different things.

We have gone through the latter extensively in our handheld massager reviews, check them out if you wish to find out more.

For now, let's look at the top hand massagers the market has to offer.

Lunix Cordless Electric Hand Massager

The Lunix LX3 is definitely amongst the top candidates if we are looking at the best hand massager available in the market.

This cordless device combines all 3 components - compression, heat and vibration to deliver a massage experience that resembles the closest feeling to a real hand massage.

It offers the most number of modes and intensity levels compared to the rest, with an ergonomic hand position that not many other units have.

FDA-approved, it has been successfully tested by over 300 physical hand therapy patients who see an obvious DECREASE in arthritis pain and FASTER recovery after carpal tunnel surgery.

We like how its customer support is US-based, with Lifetime Warranty offered and Full Refund options available. Read more here...

PGG Cordless Hand Massager

The PGG X7Pro is another top favourite. Comes with a pair of gloves and finger massager, this is the best shiatsu massager for tender hands that are prone to sensitivity.

Amongst everything, we like how it offers 3 heat settings to cater to different needs. The intuitive display of keys also make it very easy to operate.

One of the best portable massager, its cordless design uses rechargeable lithium ion batteries so there is no need to replace them all the time. 30 minutes is all you need to get a full charge. Continue reading here...

Prourbier Air Compression Hand Massager

The Prourbier stood out to us with its long design. If you are looking for a hand massager that can reach beyond the wrist area, you will not go wrong with this one.

The longer design does not add to its overall weight though. This little device weighs about the same as other shorter units so it is still very portable.

Matching the Lunix in terms of number of massage modes and intensity levels, it too offers one heat setting only. It comes with 3 hand grip strength enhancers though so that's a bargain, however, it takes longer to get one full charge. Find out here...

Evita Electric Hand Palm Massager

The Evita operates quite differently from the rest.

Instead of pre-set modes with certain intensity and pressure levels inputted, this one here actually allows you to adjust the setting  to the dot according to your needs.

That is, you can adjust the pressure level to exactly what you want - increase and decompress according to your preference.

This is perhaps the best shiatsu massager for women because you can actually have a hand care session besides mere pain-relief purposes. HandSonic Hand Massager

The HandSonic Hand Massager is one with the most advanced technology inbuilt out of all.

Adopting a 3D surround air pressure bionic technology, its precision engineering is further enhanced with its sophisticated AI microchip programming.

What entails is a great imitation of a private hand masseur in the effect of artificial massage.

It has one of the most comprehensive coverage we will have to say. All 36 reflective areas of the palm receiving equal pressure massage through a rhythmic inflatable and deflated drive cushion. All aspects - time, pressure, mode and heat can be freely regulated. Continue reading here...

HoMove Hand Roller Massager

For those that like the roller method, the HoMove Hand Massager will be the best hand massager for you.

This is because it also adopts a 2-finger massager roller in its massage mechanism. What this means is that you'll also get reflexology-like kneading to the acupressure points of the fingers simultaneously to the palm.

Out of all that are included in this hand massager review, this is the only model that comes with such feature. With up to 5 groups of airbags and 3 sets of air valves, the air pressure it exudes is quite literally, second to none. Find out more here...

Breo iPalm520 Electric Acupressure Hand Massager

How Do Hand Massagers Work?

Now, there are many different types of hand massagers and they work quite differently from one another.

For instance, a manual roller-type hand massager will operate very differently from an automatic, electric one.

manual hand massage

how hand massager work

For our purpose, we are going to explain how electric hand massagers (as that reviewed above) work in general.

Acupressure Massage

To start off, hand massagers are used for the palm, hand, wrist and all fingers - a point acupressure massage.

You see, there are a lot of nerve reflex zones on our hands which are directly connected to many important organs of the body.

hand reflexology chart

Ancient Chinese acupuncture theory will tell you that massaging the hands will help achieve an overall healthier and more relaxed state for the whole body.

That’s reflexology for you. To those who are unfamiliar with the concept, it is a practice of applying pressure to specific areas of the body believed to correspond to a different organ, gland or zone.

On the same basis, hand massagers operate by focusing on the hands. They apply pressure on different points to provide targeted massage that makes you feel relaxed and revitalized.

Air Pressure + Hot Compression

You will notice there is one formula employed across all hand massagers to achieve this purpose, regardless of brand or model.

That is – the air pressure + hot compression technology.

Air compression and heat therapy

Air Pressure - Intelligent air pressure produces a soothing rhythm that accurately simulates the reflexes, massaging the fingers, palms and the tops and bottoms of the hands, while massaging the acupuncture points.

Hot Compression - Delivered via deep-infrared energy. A comforting heat within the range of 98F–107F to promote healthy blood circulation, soothe muscles and reduces hand fatigue.

To put it very briefly, electric hand massagers relax the hands by pressing at the acupressure points of the palm and fingers. They also squeeze the hand firmly and stretch the nerves and fingers straight out, meanwhile providing slow warming to the area.

You do get models that incorporate more like the HoMove, which has an additional roller feature. This is to give an accurate imitation of reflexology-like kneading to the acupressure points.

Generally speaking though, they do not stray far away from the basis that is the wave compression/thermal combination.

Do I Need A Hand Massager?

Knowing all that, do we need a hand massager? As some may say, it is not a necessity. Let's see about that.

Overall Body Care

Our hands are one of the busiest parts of the body - we need them to carry out most work in our daily life.

hands usage

Understandably so then, that the hand is among our most complex structures of the body.

To put it simply, the anatomy of our hand consists of  an incredibly delicate and complex system of muscle, joints, tendons, ligaments and blood vessels. There are more than two dozen fine, small bones in each hand.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, it is believed that our hands, like the feet, have reflexology points.

Each acupressure point leads to different organs of the body. When massaged accordingly, they help the whole body relax and bring back your balance, thereby reducing your stress level.

On the contrary, if you do not take good care of your hands, they can be prone to injuries.

hand massage therapeutic

From a wide range of motions, repetitive and stressful tasks to improper use of the hand, various types of temporary and (sometimes) chronic ailments can develop due to the hand’s intricate structure.

So, a massage treatment for the hand is more than just relaxation of the hands – it is for the relaxation and care of the whole body as well. We believe that the regular and proper stimulus to the palm can benefit the internal organs in the long run.

Following this line of thought, you would think that a hand massager is such a worthy investment to make.

Also known as joint inflammation, it is perhaps one of the most common ailment experienced by a majority of the community.

Rheumatiod arthritis in particular, where you experience pain, swelling, stiffness or reduced range of motion in the hands and wrist.

rheumatoid arthritis

The causes vary – from wear and tear, infections to underlying diseases, the pain and stiffness can worsen with age.

Studies found that people with arthritis has 75% lesser in strength than those who do not have it. This means that even simple actions like holding a light object, can be quite impossible.

Such people should definitely have a massager for hand pain because it has been scientifically proven that daily massages help improve the arthritis condition. Not only do they experience less pain, they also found that they have more strength in their muscles as well.

palm hand massager

Most hand massagers available on the market nowadays are able to also increase the strength of muscles as well.

You will be pleased to know that all our hand massager reviews above have this capability.

This is why any will make for the best electric massager that helps with alleviating aches and improving the overall quality of life.

People who have used massagers for around 3-4 weeks see a drastic improvement in their overall mood and anxiety level, with many having a much calmer sleep at the end of the day.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is another common hand condition that will see great benefits from using a hand massager. It is different from arthritis, depicted as follows:

carpal tunnel vs arthritis

A brief explanation – the carpal tunnel is a narrow passageway on the palm side of your wrist that is made up of bones and ligaments.

The median nerve, which controls sensation and movement in the thumb and first three fingers, runs through this passageway along with tendons to the fingers and thumb.

carpal tunnel syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is when you feel pain in the hand and arm, accompanied with some sort of numbness or tingling.

There are many factors contributing to it - wrist anatomy, underlying health conditions and patterns of hand use being some of the common ones.

Regular therapeutic hand massage can help to soothe and relieve the pain and increase range of motion. The rhythmic massage motion encourages oxygen-rich blood to flow into the stiff and sore areas.

In many cases, a good quality hand massage of just a few minutes on a daily basis can help alleviate these conditions.

Besides arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome, you will see great relief from using a hand massager if you suffer from the following symptoms:

symptoms suitable for hand massagers

- trigger finger and finger numbness

- achy hands

- rheumatological symptoms

- stiff finger

- sore hands/wrists

- tightening fingers

- fingers coldness strain

In particular, it is important that you give your hands a relaxing massage regularly if you are one of those with busy hands. For example, programmers, instrument players, housewives, accountants, office workers and so on.

Seeing that, we will say that whilst it is not a MUST for everyone, a hand massager will do you more good than harm.

ESPECIALLY if you suffer from some kind of hand conditions/ailments one way or the other. It is one of the best home massager anyone can own.

Hand Massager vs. Professional Manual Massages

So, we all know by now that a hand massager works to relieve pain in the hands. In the process of doing so, it helps maintain the overall health of all body parts as well.

How well does it fare then, if we are to compare it with a hand massage provided by a professional masseuse?

This question very much depends on the individual masseur.

hand massage

There are some very skilful professionals who will just ‘get’ what you need and they deliver. If you come across one, hold on to him/her.

However, there are also those that are rather subpar in their skills. Not only do they not help much, they may even injure you in the process.

Compared to that, a hand massager does not involve any kind of human factor. It will only apply the pressure that you choose – consistently, and regularly. No deviation, no straying out of the course.

Of course, it depends to a very large extent you choosing a good hand massager. There are certainly inferior ones out there so research well before you make your choice. Otherwise, you may rely on our hand massager reviews above – we’ve done the hard part that is eliminating the bad from the good ones.

In terms of penetration, hand massagers are able to penetrate much deeper than manual massages in our opinion.

You see, there will always be a limit as to how much strength a human can apply. If a masseuse presses too hard in an attempt to penetrate deeper, it may cause pain.

For a machine though, it will be able to deliver accordingly no matter how deep you want.

It will also be much easier to control the amount of pressure – just adjust the level according to your needs.

Also, a hand massager is able to work at a larger area than a manual masseur.

For instance, a less than 10-minute session on the machine is equivalent to what you can achieve with a one-hour manual massage. In that regard, the hand massager definitely takes the upper hand.

Having said that, a machine is a machine - it cannot compare to the human brain and it does not give the human touch.

A professional masseur will be able to examine your hand and evaluate how problematic a particular area is, thereby provide the level of massage required accordingly.

One main benefit hand massagers have over professional masseurs is that they are so much more convenient.

Comfier hand massage portability

Due to them being so compact in size and light in weight, they make for the best portable massager - one that you can literally take with you everywhere you go.

Be it at home or at the office, you can have a hand massage at your convenience anytime you want.

You can even pack them in your suitcase, and take them with you on vacation.

Compared to having to book an appointment and securing a slot with your local masseur or spa regularly, a hand massager is no doubt so much more convenient in giving you access to a quick massage anytime you want.

This is a no-brainer, but you will be able to cut off from expensive care if you purchase a hand massager. Even if they may not seem much at a glance, they do add up to a rather significant amount if you visit your massage parlour regularly.

Sure, you will need to invest some money in buying a hand massager, but we’re not talking about much – some of the best hand massagers are also only within the $100 range, with some going as low as around $50.

If we are to really compare, the majority of hand massagers available on the market would cost around the same as what you would be charged for a one-hour massage.

Buy once, and you can use it for a long time. Definitely more budget-friendly compared to a human masseuse.

Safety Information

Having said the above, there are certain things to pay attention to when it comes to an electric hand massager:

  • People with indisposed symptoms like inflammation and blood stasis in hand, or have had a hand surgery are prohibited from using an electric hand massager.
  • Remove any hand/finger ornament when using a hand massager.
  • Do not put on nail polish 1 hour before using a hand massager.
  • Avoid using a hand massager at places with excessively high temperature and moisture.
  • Use light mode settings instead of medium or hard if you have soft and tender hands.
  • People with heat/cold sensation disorder should use hand massagers that come with heat compression with caution.
  • It is normal to see dimples forming in the skin after using a hand massager. They will disappear in 15-30 minutes.
  • Hand massagers are meant for household health care and not for medical treatment.

Also, you will notice dimples as that pictured below forming on the palms after a session in the hand massager.

Don't worry, they are completely normal -  they will fade away as the blood circulates for a few minutes.

These are obvious signs of massage stimulation on the hands. They show that your hands reflex zones have been full stimulated, as well as the efficiency of the hand massager with its kneading properties.

Wrapping Up

Compared to other body parts, our hands are often neglected.

It is time to change this and pay more attention to them because you are subjecting them to various tasks every day.

Hand massagers are not just merely about pain relieving. A good massager for hand will do so much more in your overall wellbeing in the long run.

Do not wait until you develop these symptoms though - take good care of your hands from an early stage and you may just be able to get away from these ailments once and for all.
